Bronchogenic cyst in left anterior cranial fossa.

چکیده
A 33-year-old man had dizziness for 3 days without provoking factors. Head CT demonstrated a mass in the left lateral anterior cranial fossa with calcification and cystic degeneration (figure 1, A–C). MRI showed an irregularly shaped mass with mixed signal and slight marginal enhancement (figure 1, D–F). He underwent mass resection with no recurrent dizziness during 12 months’ follow-up. On pathologic examination, the cyst inner lining consisted of ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium (figure 2). The diagnosis was bronchogenic cyst, a rare congenital malformation of ventral foregut development. Surgical excision is the elective treatment.

Temporal lobe epilepsy associated with hippocampal sclerosis and a contralateral middle fossa arachnoid cyst
We report on a 13-year-old boy with temporal lobe epilepsy associated with left hippocampal sclerosis and a contralateral arachnoid cyst in the middle cranial fossa (ACMCF). Chronic intracranial recording from subdural grid electrodes showed the left medial temporal lobe to be the ictal onset zone. After left anterior temporal lobectomy with hippocampectomy, seizure control was improved. ACMCF ...

متن کاملGiant Aneurysmal Bone Cyst of the Anterior Cranial Fossa and Paranasal Sinuses Presenting in Pregnancy: Case Report and Literature Review
Background and Purpose Aneurysmal bone cysts (ABCs) rarely involve the cranium and have seldom been reported in pregnancy. Clinical Presentation We describe a case of a 28-year-old woman who presented at 37 weeks of gestation with 3 months of gradually worsening vision, 10 months of proptosis, and restricted ocular motility on the left. Brain imaging revealed a multicystic enhancing mass measur...
متن کاملAnterior Cranial Fossa Hemorrhagic epidermoid Cyst: CT and MRI Findings
We reported a rare case of hemorrhagic epidermoid cyst located in the anterior cranial fossa. A 66-year-old female presented with progressive nausea and vomiting for one month. Computed tomography revealed a mixed high and low density mass in the right lateral frontal basal region, with a few stippled calcifications at its inferior wall. Magnetic resonance imaging showed that the lesion was lar...

A 59-year-old male presented with a large cholesterol granuloma arising from the frontal sinus manifesting as a large, fluctuated, soft mass in his brow, compressing left eye. Skull radiography showed dilation of the frontal sinus. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a cystic mass extending into the left orbit and anterior cranial fossa. Gross inspection at the frontal c...
